After much speculation, it was announced today that designer Phoebe Philo is indeed parting ways with Céline.
In 2006, after five years at the helm of Chloé, Philo stepped away from designing in order to spend more time with her growing family. In 2008, Philo returned to the industry when she was hired to take the creative reigns at Céline. She has spent the past decade creating often minimalist, often menswear-inspired, and always #coveted designs, quietly gaining fashion fans from Kanye West (he name dropped Philo in "Dark Fantasy" - NO BIG DEAL) to Joan Didion. (VERY. BIG. DEAL.)
As we look forward to seeing what she does next, here's a look back at Philo's very first Céline runway from the Videofashion Vault - Spring/Summer 2010, which debuted in Paris in the fall of 2009. Don't miss the adorable interview with Philo's [rightfully very proud] parents!
